Wrong-way driver dies after collision with semi-trailer and pickup truck on Freeway 5 in Thornton

THORNTON, CA (May 30, 2024) – One person died and two others were injured in a wrong-way driving crash Wednesday afternoon, May 29, on the 5 Freeway in Thornton.

The fatal crash occurred just after 4:30 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway at Walnut Grove Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving a pickup truck in the northbound lane when she merged into the southbound lane.
