APD identifies 27-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin police have determined the identity of the 27-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash in southeast Austin on Saturday.

William Heinz-Phillip Fountain was driving on Teri Road near S. Pleasant Valley Road when he crossed into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle, police said. The accident occurred just before 9:30 p.m.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene and was not impaired, police said.

According to APD data, this is Austin’s 35th traffic fatality of the year, lower than the last three years.
