3 teens killed in two early morning shootings in Oakland – NBC Bay Area

According to police, three teenagers were shot at two different crime scenes in Oakland early Monday morning.

Just before 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Filbert Street for a report of an unresponsive person, police said. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old victim with at least one gunshot wound.

Paramedics confirmed the victim’s death at the scene of the accident.

About 30 minutes later, Oakland officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 1300 block of 102nd Avenue, police said.

When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old Antioch man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A short time later, police were notified of a second victim of the shooting, a 17-year-old boy from San Francisco who was taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound, OPD said. He was treated at the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Police had no information about the suspect or motive for the shooting.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed and are pending.

The three murders were the 38th, 39th and 40th this year in Oakland, police said.
