Woman arrested after fatal hit-and-run crash in Coconut Creek – NBC 6 South Florida

A woman is accused of fatally striking a man and fleeing the scene after he was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Coconut Creek last January.

Coconut Creek police reported Wednesday the arrest of 21-year-old Tatiana Cruz in connection with the investigation into the fatal hit-and-run accident on January 14. She is scheduled to appear in bail court on Thursday.

According to police, the woman faces several charges, including negligent homicide, failure to stop at an accident resulting in death, reckless driving and violating driver’s license regulations.

According to Coconut Creek Police spokesman Scotty Leamon, the hit-and-run victim, whose identity has not yet been released by authorities, was crossing Lyons Street at 6:29 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle and fled the scene.
