1 dead after accident on I-70 in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – One person died in a crash on Interstate 70 east of Columbus Monday evening.

According to Columbus Police, officers were called to the westbound lanes of I-70 near South James Road around 10:30 p.m.

Emergency crews took one person to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Police said she was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m.

All lanes of westbound I-70 are closed in the area. There was no information on what caused the accident.
