One dead, one injured in shooting at Brookhaven Apartments

Tuscaloosa police are currently investigating a fatal shooting at an apartment complex in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Tuscaloosa police are investigating a fatal shooting overnight at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex.

Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Captain Marty Sellers told local media just before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning that VCU detectives and officers from the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the shooting call at the Brookhaven Apartments at 1310 James I. Harrison Jr. Parkway would have.

At the scene, officers discovered that two men had been shot. Vendors said one of the people died from their injuries.

The extent of the injuries to the other person who was shot remains unclear.

This is the second possible homicide investigated in Tuscaloosa this week. It follows a murder investigation at the Alcoholics Anonymous clubhouse in Tuscaloosa that was launched after the body of a 62-year-old man was found under suspicious circumstances Tuesday morning.
