The Napa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged a suspect in the killing of a Vallejo man during a fight at Lake Berryessa on June 8.

According to agency officials, 25-year-old Gabriel James Chavez of American Canyon was arrested and charged with murder after witnesses recognized him during a lineup.

Officials with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Sunday that Andres Fabian Sandoval Garcia, 39, of Vallejo, was fatally shot during a “large, chaotic” brawl that broke out at the Oak Shores Day Use Area around 5:30 p.m. on June 8. Three other people, including Chavez, were also injured and were airlifted to area hospitals with injuries from the brawl that ranged from stab wounds to punch wounds.
