Atlanta shooting: 3 people, suspect shot dead at Peachtree Center

Three people and a suspected shooter were shot dead at an Atlanta shopping center, the city’s mayor and police announced Tuesday afternoon.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens shared an X-post Tuesday afternoon saying, “Four people were shot in the Peachtree Center food court. The building is now on lockdown. I’m at Public Safety HQ with the chef. More information to come.”

Dickens, in a later X-article, and the Atlanta Police Department said one of the four people shot was believed to be a suspected shooter.

“Everyone involved is still alive,” Dickens said in the message posted at 3:13 p.m. ET.

In Dickens’ follow-up message, he told people to “avoid the area.”

The Peachtree Center Food Court is located in the Peachtree Center on Peachtree Road.
