CT-Toddler loses three toes in lawnmower accident: report

According to authorities, the incident occurred Monday in Wolcott.

WOLCOTT, CT — A 1-year-old boy lost three toes Monday night when an electric lawn mower operated by his older sister ran over his foot in front of a home on Munson Road in Wolcott, the Hartford Courant reported.

According to Wolcott Police Chief Edward Stephens, the boy’s 10-year-old sister said her brother was running after her in the yard as she operated the lawn mower. When his leg got caught under the mower, she said she didn’t know how to stop it.

The children’s father was in the yard at the time and pulled the lawnmower away from the boy. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and initially took the child to St. Mary’s Hospital. The boy was then taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for further treatment.
