Serious accident leads to closure of a section of US 70 in Johnston County

WILSON’S MILLS – The eastbound lanes of U.S. 70 near Wilson’s Mills were closed after a crash involving multiple vehicles and a tractor-trailer.

The collision was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Monday on US 70 near Swift Creek Road.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted from US 70 to Wilson’s Mills Road.

Several emergency vehicles are on site.

The eastbound lanes are expected to be closed for several hours this afternoon. Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
