2 women shot dead overnight in parking lot on Northside Drive in downtown Atlanta

ATLANTA – Two women were reportedly shot overnight on Northside Drive in downtown Atlanta.

Atlanta police said they were inside a vehicle in a parking lot in the 500 block of Northside, near Meldrum Street NW, when a woman was shot in the face and Another was hit by a bullet.

The shooting was reported shortly before 2:30 a.m. The women, aged 22 and 21, were able to go to a nearby hospital.

Police are still searching for the shooter.

Police have not said what led to the shooting or provided any information on a possible suspect.
