Beautiful Tuesday, followed by several days with temperatures around 27 degrees and a risk of storms on Thursday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – Monday was a beautiful but cool day, with highs reaching just 21 degrees. It will warm up over the next few days, with a storm warning in place for late Thursday.

If you want to work in the garden or do other outdoor activities without worrying about the heat, Tuesday is the day for you! The sky will remain mostly sunny, but a few higher clouds will move in during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will be pleasant and will be around 24 degrees.

If you like summer temperatures, you will be spoiled in the next few days. Maximum temperatures will be around 30 degrees on Wednesday and almost 32 degrees on Thursday.

Thursday is a day we are keeping an eye on. It will start partly cloudy, but the chance of showers and thunderstorms is high Thursday evening and could continue into the night. Strong storms are possible later on Thursday and that is why the 21Alive Weather Team has a FIRST WEATHER WARNING DAY (Code Yellow) for the afternoon hours on Thursday. The greatest danger with these storms is isolated destructive wind gusts, but the likelihood of severe weather appears low. There is still some disagreement about the timing, but more questions should be answered in the next 24 hours.

Temperatures will stay at 27 degrees on Friday and Saturday before hotter weather arrives. Temperatures will rise to 32 degrees on Sunday and Monday and muggy air is expected! Make sure you stay hydrated and drink plenty of water on both days, it will be hot.

Today: Mostly sunny, lovely; high 76; wind S 5-10
