ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has released information regarding a drug and gambling bust that Action News Jax first reported to you on Friday, May 31.

After receiving tips from the public for over six months, special investigation investigators launched Operation Express Jackpot at 207 Express Mart on West Church Street in Hastings.

“Undercover officers purchased drug paraphernalia, participated in multiple electronic gambling games inside the stores, and were involved in multiple drug transactions in the parking lot,” SJSO said in a special announcement.

During a search, detectives and canine officers seized four gaming machines, a large quantity of drug paraphernalia, gambling machines and approximately $400,000 in cash.

With the help of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, numerous suspects were arrested.
