Death investigation near North Las Cruces Park

Police are investigating the death of a man found near North Las Cruces Park. He was found Saturday morning, June 8. Las Cruces police found 35-year-old Juan Martinez in an area near Valley View Avenue. Martinez was found with at least one gunshot wound and died in the area. Las Cruces police were contacted by someone who found the man unconscious in a vacant area near the park.Investigators are still working to determine what led to Martinez’s death.
