Investigation underway after teenagers found shot to death in apartment near 21st Street N. in Texas City, police say

TEXAS CITY, Texas (KTRK) – Authorities are searching for the person responsible for the shooting of two teenagers in a Texas City apartment complex over the weekend.

Officers with the Texas City Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred around 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Terrace at 2602 Apartments on 21st Street N.

Police initially believed the victim was a man and a teenager, but an update revealed that both were minors.

The authorities have only limited information about the victims. Their ages and possible family relationships are unknown.

In an update, TCPD said the younger victim appears to be in stable condition at the hospital and the other victim has since been released.

Neighbors reported hearing up to ten shots.

“I don’t want the children to go out. It’s terrible. I’m constantly afraid for my children,” said Manuel Lopez, who lives nearby. “My wife was even afraid of me talking to them because she thinks that maybe one of the children who were involved in some of the shootings will come and try to target us.”

“It’s just too much. It’s like this all the time. It doesn’t make sense,” said neighbor Christian Frenchwood.

Investigators said they were speaking to a suspect, but no arrests had been made.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Felix Flores at (409) 643-5834 or Mainland Community Crime Stoppers at (409) 945-8477.
