Las Vegas police investigate animals found dead in vehicle

In temperatures of up to 42 degrees Celsius, several dead animals were found in a vehicle in the northwest Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

At around 3 p.m., police officers responded to a report of an unattended animal in distress in a vehicle, responding to a report from the Metropolitan Police Department.

During the investigation, officers found several dead animals, police said.

One person was arrested, police said.

The investigation is being led by Metro’s Animal Cruelty Unit.

A warning of extreme heat is in effect until Wednesday evening.

Last week, four puppies were rescued from a bucket left outside on a Las Vegas sidewalk. The dogs are doing better, the Animal Foundation said Tuesday.
