Suspect arrested after domestic dispute that led to shooting in Henderson neighborhood

A man is behind bars after a domestic dispute led to a shooting in a Henderson neighborhood over the weekend, according to police.

On Saturday, around 6:20 p.m., the Henderson Police Department (HPD) was dispatched to the area of ​​Sandwedge Drive and Birdie Lane after a domestic incident involving a firearm discharged was reported.

Investigations revealed that an argument between a husband and two other relatives resulted in 63-year-old Eric Bennett firing a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

According to police, no one was injured in this incident.

On Sunday, Bennett was taken into custody by the Criminal Apprehension Team and booked into the Henderson Detention Center on the following charges:

  • 1 count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon
  • 1 time firing a firearm into an inhabited building
  • 1 count of domestic violence 1.
