Accident in Lyon County leaves one dead and one arrested | News

One person died in a traffic accident in Lyon County earlier this month and another was arrested for drunk driving.

Nevada State Police responded to a crash at Six Mile Canyon Road and San Clemens Avenue in Lyon County on June 2.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling south on Six Mile Canyon Road toward San Clemens Avenue.

The car skidded, landed in a ditch, was then thrown through the air, hit a fence and landed on its roof.

The passenger, 30-year-old Tyller Nichols of Dayton, Nevada, was thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 34-year-old Kyle Walker, also of Dayton, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken to the Lyon County Jail.

According to police, neither of the two people was wearing a seatbelt.

The Nevada State Police Multidisciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident.
