M8 closed due to “police operation” near Glasgow Airport

Due to a “police operation” on the M8 near Glasgow Airport, the motorway is closed in both directions.

Motorists should expect delays on the motorway near junction 27 Paisley on Tuesday morning.

Traffic Scotland first reported the incident at around 6.14am and issued an update at 7.11am that the incident had been resolved.

However, they have stated that commuters can still expect “very long” delays until traffic volumes return to normal.

Buses may also experience delays this morning, with Stagecoach tweeting that their operations were affected by the closure.

One driver wrote on social media: “I’m currently on the St. James ramp outside the airport. Been here for 30 minutes.”

Another said: “Queens are already forming.”

Scottish police have been asked for comment.
