Charges filed after man attacked on street

Two men have been charged after a man was left in critical condition in an attack near a pub.

Police were called to the incident near Walkabout on Queen Street, Blackpool, at around 04:25 BST on Saturday.

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, where he remains, Lancashire Police said.

A 36-year-old from Fleetwood was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a 39-year-old from Blackpool was charged with affray and assault.

Both were to appear before the Justice of the Peace in Lancaster.
