Woman and child killed, two other children injured in shooting, Caswell Co. sheriff says

A man and a child were killed and two other children were injured in a shooting Saturday in Caswell County.

According to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a shots fired call at a home in the 8100 block of Cherry Grove Road.

When they arrived, they found four victims inside with gunshot wounds. Two of the victims, 37-year-old Danielle Hines and a child, died at the scene. Authorities transported two other children inside the home to the hospital.

The suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Anthony Lamont Siler, fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived on the scene.

Siler was later stopped by sheriff’s deputies in Alamance County and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities did not give a motive for the shooting and said their thoughts were with the victims’ families.
