Unlicensed driver from Mexico arrested after three-vehicle accident

An unlicensed driver from Mexico was arrested following a three-vehicle crash on US Highway 27/441.

Brandon Hernandez, 21, of Lady Lake, was driving A vehicle was struck around 8:30 p.m. Saturday when it rear-ended another vehicle, causing the vehicle to crash into a third vehicle, according to a Lady Lake police report. All three vehicles sustained minor damage. There were no injuries.

An officer investigating the accident required the assistance of a translator because Hernandez speaks only Spanish. The officer determined that Hernandez does not have a United States-issued driver’s license.

He was arrested for driving without a license, and was also ticketed for tailgating and not having proof of insurance.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $500 bail.
