Woman arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing acquaintance on Pine Hill yesterday, sheriff’s office says | Lost Coast Outpost

Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On 07/10/2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s officers were called to the 4600 block of Crane Street in Eureka for a report of a stabbing.


Upon arrival, officers located and arrested 25-year-old Maria Hernandez-Ruelas, who was being detained by those on scene. Officers also located a 30-year-old female victim who had multiple stab wounds and cuts. During the investigation, it was determined that Hernandez-Ruelas and the victim knew each other. The victim was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries.

Hernandez-Ruelas was arrested for attempted murder (PC 664/187(A)) and later booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility after receiving medical treatment for injuries she sustained in the attack.

This case is still under investigation.
