Bostic was reported missing in Macon County on June 29. Her remains were found on July 3 by a Tennessee Department of Transportation contractor picking up trash along a road in Hendersonville.

Her body was found about an hour away from where she was reported missing.

Three days later, authorities arrested an unidentified 17-year-old Westmoreland boy on suspicion of first-degree murder. Bostic’s friends told Scripps News Nashville they believed the suspect was an ex-boyfriend.

In a press release, Hendersonville Police said, “To preserve the integrity of the investigation, no further details regarding this incident will be released at this time.”

Bostic’s classmates started a GoFundMe campaign to help her family. As of July 10, they have raised more than $13,000.
