3 people shot in California home. One suspect is in custody, police say

According to Alameda police, three people were shot in California on Wednesday evening and a suspect is in custody.

ALAMEDA, Calif. – Three people were shot and killed in California Wednesday night and a suspect is in custody, according to Alameda police.

The APD said in a statement on Facebook that they received a call from a person reporting that their neighbor had been shot in the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road in the city of Alameda. Upon arrival, Alameda Police officers located the victim. While clearing the residence, APD found several family members with apparent gunshot wounds, including minors. A suspect is in custody. Police did not initially provide a motive for the shooting.

“We are deeply saddened to report that three victims did not survive and other family members are being treated at local hospitals,” police said.

There is no indication that there is a danger to the public, the police said. The investigation is ongoing.
