A couple faces charges in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Wright County, Missouri.

HARTVILLE, Missouri (KY3) – A Hartville man and a Monett woman face charges in connection with the sexual assault investigation.

According to investigators, Randy Brown admitted to having sexual relations with an autistic woman. He is charged with three counts of sodomy and three counts of sexual abuse. Amy Mattlage is accused of allowing the relationship between Brown and the victim. She is accused of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse.

A detective with the Wright County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on July 1 about a sexual assault case that occurred in Hartville. The next day, the detective contacted Monett Police Department investigators. A search of a police database revealed that Brown and Mattlage had warrants for their arrest out of Lawrence County for sexual assault.

It was determined that the sexual assaults occurred on May 24 in Monett and May 25 in Hartville.

Brown and Mattlage were taken into custody on July 2. The probable cause statement states that the couple had married a few days before the arrest. Both are being held in the Lawrence County Jail.
