Two women arrested in Freestone County, Texas, for serious crimes

FREESTONE COUNTY, Texas – Two women were arrested in the Freestone County area Sunday after officers responded to a shooting call.

According to the county sheriff, officers at the scene learned that a woman had shot two men, with one fleeing into nearby woods to escape the gunfire. Officers arrested one of the women and another woman at the scene to investigate.

A drone was used to locate one of the male victims, who fled the scene with the assistance of Teague’s emergency responders. No injuries were reported among the four people involved in the incident.

After examining the crime scene, authorities arrested the two women, whose names were not released, on separate charges. Investigators discovered nearly 150 grams of methamphetamine at the scene. 137 grams of the illegal substances discovered were liquid methamphetamine, while another 6 grams were crystal methamphetamine.

Both were arrested and charged with manufacture/delivery of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance in an amount between 4 and 200 grams, a first-degree felony. One of the arrested women was charged with two counts of attempted murder, a second-degree felony.

The sheriff’s office said they were grateful that no one lost their life in this dangerous situation.
