Police seek 25-year-old suspect in connection with shooting on Carlton Avenue on Thursday morning

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE NOW) – Charlottesville Police have a suspect in the shooting that occurred just after midnight Thursday morning in the 1300 block of Carlton Avenue. Charlottesville Police Detectives have charged 25-year-old Charlottesville resident Travis William Herndon with aggravated willful assault, willful assault, attempted willful assault, willful shooting at an occupied vehicle and possession of a weapon by a violent felon. If you see him or know where he is, do not approach him as he is believed to be armed.

Charlottesville police responded to a report of a shooting on Carlton Avenue just after midnight Thursday and found a vehicle that had crashed into a mobile home. Inside the vehicle, officers found an 18-year-old victim who had been shot in the head, according to Police Chief Mike Kochis. She was taken to UVA and admitted Thursday morning in stable condition with serious injuries.
