Man shot in dispute over gun at gas station in Kentucky, police said

DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) – A Boyle County man faces a number of charges after police say he strangled his girlfriend at a gas station.

According to Danville police, officers were called to the Speedway on Main Street Wednesday evening in response to a shooting.

When they arrived, they found Alexander Baldwin with a gunshot wound to the hand.

Police said Baldwin and his girlfriend were arguing near the gas pumps before the shooting. Baldwin choked her and pushed her to the ground, they said.

When they both got back into the car, they grabbed a gun that was on the passenger seat. A struggle ensued over the gun and two shots were fired. Baldwin was shot in the hand.

He was taken to hospital for his injuries.

He is now accused of strangulation, assault and reckless endangerment.
